Solar Power Plant
Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Power Plants:
A solar power plant is a facility designed to convert sunlight into electricity using solar energy technology.
The Photovoltaic generator (PV – generator) is the total arrangement of modules and branches. Solar cells are the smallest units of a photovoltaic installation and convert light into current (photoelectric effect). The individual solar cells are connected together in a module (in series connection).
In order to achieve a higher system voltage, modules are connected in Series, called a string. PV strings of a Solar PV array are electrically connected to array junction box with protection devices.
Grid-connected Inverter is an integrated system consisting of a solar charge controller and inverter which converts the direct current (DC) generated by the PV arrays to Alternating Current (AC) which is fed to the LT panel.
- Components: Solar panels, inverters (to convert DC electricity to AC), mounting systems, and sometimes battery storage.
- Advantages: Simplicity, scalability, and low maintenance. Suitable for a variety of locations and can be installed on rooftops or large fields.
